So, I came in early to work to complete my training today and after being here for about 3 hours I brought another storm into the area. Every night that I have worked/trained, a storm of significant strength has moved through the Pittsburg, SE Kansas area. Tonight, as my first night, I brought in a tornadic storm. As I type, we are under a tornado warning and people have taken cover in the University Police Department offices. The storm is predicted to hit the area at or near 9:40 this evening, in about 4 minutes. Will post again as time progresses.

Final night of training.

Well, after a few nights of training (3), I am just about ready to start going solo on dispatcher duties for the PSU Campus Police. Calling them “Campus Police” isn’t quite right though, they are in charge of all of the streets south of Quincy. Tonight has been “fun”, with another severe thunderstorm warning occurring this evening. On my first night of training, I had been on the radio for an hour when we were placed under a severe thunderstorm warning and then a tornado warning. I very quickly had to disseminate the news for the safety of the campus. Man that was nuts. Expect updates from me while I am working.
